About Us

On May 6th 2022 the Circular Head Heritage Centre was relocated from its aging building in King Street to a modern building on the Agritas site in Nelson Street.

The Heritage Centre began its life 25 years ago in the old Billett’s building in King Street. This had been originally built in 1906 and a shop added in the 1920’s. Our many items were displayed throughout the various rooms of the building.

Really enjoyed our visit to this charming museum. It’s full of fascinating historical pieces, and the 200‑year farming anniversary display is well done. The replica of Ziggy the Zygomaturus tasmanicum, found locally over a century ago, is fantastic. There’s also a lovely café on site. We didn’t have a meal, but the fruit juice we tried was excellent. Tickets for an adult are only $5 for entry.

Wonderful little centre with interesting info displayed, cute shop and an amazing Café! We did the cheese tasting and bought 3 packages from local venezuelan style cheesemakers, soo good!!

Amazing display and variety of things to look at in the museum. We especially loved the nickname wall!! All the staff were super helpful and friendly and the cafe is definitely worth checking out while you are there as food and drinks were delicious!
